Overview
Our office is a combined Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, so there is a continuity of interaction between our staff and you.
We take great pride in getting to know you personally and we do our best to be sensitive to your financial situation. We will sit down with you one-on-one, help you arrange financing—not just for your first year, but for four years. We will also provide ongoing debt counseling to help you manage your financial obligations as well as plan for your future residency and successful career beyond.
Ultimately, securing the funds you need to finance your education is your responsibility, and we understand it can be a lot of work. But don’t be daunted. If you show us that you have the potential and determination to become a physician, we will go to extraordinary lengths to help you overcome your financial obstacles.

Getting Started
Financing medical school can be a bit overwhelming. Our office is here to assist you in understanding how you can finance your education. Our office encourages you to be organized and timely in applying for financial aid so that we can work together in this task.
For purposes of the University’s need-based resources, the student is not viewed as financially independent of parents. Therefore, all students interested in need-based resources are required to provide both parents' information on financial aid applications. Parental information will be used to determine need-based eligibility each year of enrollment, regardless of age or change in marital status. The University also requires a student to borrow a minimum amount of Federal Stafford loans to be considered for institutional need-based scholarship resources.
The following information is required of incoming and returning students interested in Federal Stafford loans and institutional need-based resources:
- FAFSA– Free Application for Federal Student Aid (School Code: E00516)
- Need Access
- Student (and Spouse) Federal Income Tax Return(s) – or Non-Filer Tax Statement
- Parent(s) Federal Income Tax Return(s) – or Non-Filer Tax Statement
- Proof of any untaxed income for student and/or parent if applicable – such as foreign income, Social Security benefits, unemployment compensation, etc.)
